  we had one about a poopy artist in the bathroom, one of the little kids was writing on the walls with his #2.

  If they use a local needs talk to go after one person it's because that particular body of elders consists of cowards. They don't have the back-bone to deal with the situation one-on-one. Have heard COs say they same thing, if you've got a problem with an individual, deal with it directly, don't do it from the platform.

  i saw this movie over the weekend.

  i think he did a very good job addressing the subject of guns in america.

  i walked away still not knowing exactly why there are so many more murders in this country than in any other countries.

  the british journal of hematology 2002 119 25-37 makes interesting reading in its article by judith marsh and david bevan entitled 'haematological care of jehovahs witnesses'.

  nothing new, but in view of what i heard recently from an jw acquaintance working in the hematology department of a local hospital it gave me some food for thought.

  the long article necessarily of a scientific nature and therefore without any noted bias makes this point regarding the alteration in policy by the wts toward those jws who take blood transfusions as a matter of choice: .

  Scully, in the interest of accuracy I'd like to point out that it is against Organizational policy to disfellowship or disassociate someone who is dead. That momentous decision went all the way to the governing body because the service department was unable to make a decision.

  Brain Washing? Mind Control?

  do the jehovahs witnesses use brain washing or mind control techniques?.

  if a good dub attends 5 hours of meetings a week, does 2 hours of service a week and does 1 hour of personal study a week, this adds up to 416 hours a year of time thinking and being "taught" about jehovahs witness beliefs.

  416 hours adds up to about 11 working weeks a year!

  This "mind-control" "brain-washing" business is a myth perpetrated by those who refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. It's propaganda instituted by the anti-cult movement which has repeatedly been demonstrated to be false. Give it up and stand on your own two feet.

  I've used it. Couldn't hold my leg up off the table until I had a pill under my tongue, then the dude could bounce up and down on it and it never moved. Weird. Fixed my back though.

  Abuse Problem Greater with the JW's?

  i am interested in hearing comments from you regarding whether you feel the child abuse problem is greater within the jw 'religion' moreso than other religions or identifiable groups.. i know some have made the comment that it is and others say there is no difference.

  on what do you basis your belief either way.

  is it strictly that the environment is conducive to pedophiles co-existing with the cong or based on empirical data?.

  This is a very interesting thread. Unfortunately it's all pretty much speculation and opinion, interesting but not conclusive. There just aren't enough facts to draw any kind of conclusion. Most, probaly all, of the anecdotal evidence is really meaningless if any kind of serious attemp at analysis is to be made.

  well, all i can say is wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  they have been preparing everyone by way on tv and radio on the sexual abuse in the jw religion.

  they had a small piece on the 6 o'clock news with a small interview with bill bowen.

  Why Was YOUR Meeting Cancelled?

  do you have any odd or unusual reasons why the elder's decided to cancel one of your meetings?.

  i don't know if this is necessarily unusual but our hall lost power one cold day.

  the meeting was cancelled.

  Wimps around here, if there's a hint of slick they cancel. Canceled one not too long ago because of scheduling conflict with one of the other congregations that use the hall.
